    Pay for leave and holidays guidance

    Over the last little while, we have seen a number of businesses in the media who have fallen short of complying with the Holidays Act 2003. MBIE has published a guidance document to help navigate the legislation.

    It’s the employer’s responsibility to give employees the correct pay and entitlements for leave and holidays.

    This article is definitely worth a read for all employers and employees.
     

     

     

    Tech tip of the month

    Another cool online programme I have heard about recently is Life Lot. It’s a personal online storage safe for all your stuff! It’s pretty cool – it has password storage capabilities ie medical, legal, financial, future wishes, elderly care and more! It’s even 100% New Zealand owned and operated!

    It is with huge pleasure that I announce that TAD once again achieved its major yearly goal of 100% IRD filing for its tax agency for the 2017 financial year – I’m prouder than a mother hen of TADs “gorgeous girls” – we make a fabulous team.

    Each Sunday night we have family night…. Me, Kieran, Dylan, Ama and Grace…. We often have fresh fish that Kieran has caught in Kawau Bay out from our house in Snells Beach.  Usually, we crumb and fry it but last week the boys had a go at a beer batter and it was delicious.

    On the other weeks, we have been working our way through the Countdown “feed four for $15” recipes.  They are fabulous – jump onto Countdown Recipes, I guarantee you will find some good value meals and give you a break from my pet hate – thinking of what we are going to eat each night!

    Here are three we all particularly enjoyed:

    Thai Red Curry with Pumpkin, Cabbage & Prawns

    Ratatouille with BBQ Meatballs

    Chunky Chicken, Potato & Sweetcorn Soup
